What My English Teacher Said
My English teacher told me
Not to set my letters upon a page
Like Looming blackbirds
Precariously perched
Upon brittle branches.
'Let them fly' she exclaimed:
And she spoke not of crows
But of swallow's spring song.
It was grace we aspired to find
Amidst hulking masses of ink
Scripting raw minds upon paper.
'Go ahead,' She coaxed
'Do not fear your stories.'
And our pencils were legs of gazelles
Leaping across vacant pages.
My English teacher told me
To not quaver in the realm
Of immortal writers
Whose pens were graced
With their feathered words
And sweeping strokes.

A lot of people might not see why I have an account here. I'm a physicist- an engineer. My dream is to win a Siemens competition. I dream about science. But I believe that physics and engineering and writing are all one. They require flexibility of the mind. It is physics that inspires my poetry, and poetry that inspires my physics. Math is a dance of my brain, where my neurons fly. Understand it, or don't. You will eventually :P
